Alisha Lehmann has hit out at football’s gender pay gap and claimed her boyfriend Douglas Luiz earns 100,000 times more than her.

Lehmann joined Juventus in the summer and made her Serie A Femminile debut on September 1, netting a goal from the bench in a 6-3 victory.

“I’m very happy to be here. The girls are nice, and we help each other on the pitch; I think I’ve made the best decision,” Lehmann told Gazzetta.

Juventus is a great club. If you join them, you can win. My career goal is also to win trophies.”

She added: “The team is like a second family, and I am ready to learn from my teammates.

“I like talking to people with more experience than me because you can always learn something. Perhaps social media will push people to follow Women’s Football more. It’s a developing process that takes time.”

However, speaking to La Repubblica, the 25-year-old did noted the disparity between the salary of her and her partner, Juventus midfielder Luiz

Lehmann said: "I'm not a star, I'm a normal person. I go home, I cook, I do the same thing as everyone else.

“After training, I often tell Douglas that it's unfair. We do the same job, but he earns 100,000 times more than me."

While Lehmann’s exact salary is unknown, Juventus bought the midfielder for a reported £42,000 while her partner Luiz joined the Italian giants for some £42million.

Since moving to Juventus, Lehmann has played two games while Luiz has been reduced to just three substitute appearances.

Juventus's men's side remain unbeaten to start the Serie A season, as do the women's team who have won both of their matches.

Luiz will come up against former employers Aston Villa in this season’s new look Champions League. Juventus travel to Villa Park on November 27.
