Erling Haaland jokingly told a young fan donning a Manchester United kit to “get another shirt”.
Things could hardly have gone better for Haaland in his debut campaign in English football.
The Norwegian claimed 52 goals in all competitions, including a record-breaking 36 goals in 35 Premier League games as Manchester City went on to claim a treble.

Meanwhile, Haaland’s eccentric personality off the pitch has also endeared him to the City faithful and the wider football community.
And earlier this week while on international duty with Norway, Haaland directed a sly jibe at a young United fan that will further entrench the 22-year-old’s status as a City fan favourite.

Yet, once the photo is taken, Haaland proceeds to cover the youngster’s United badge and says: “Wait, take the picture now. Take another picture like that.”
Grinning, the City star then cheekily tells the fan: “Get yourself a new shirt!”
On Tuesday, Haaland scored twice as Norway secured a routine 3-1 home win in their Euro 2024 qualifier against Cyprus.

Norway took an early lead through Ola Solbakken, before Haaland netted a swift brace to put the game out of reach for Cyprus.
It was a crucial win for Norway, who days early saw their Euro 2024 hopes seriously compromised after conceding two late goals to suffer a 2-1 defeat to Scotland.
And Haaland was subject to boos from his own fans following Scotland's dramatic last-gasp win.
In footage shared by the Daily Mail, supporters could be seen outside Norway's stadium chanting Haaland's name in the hope he would sign shirts and take pictures.

However, the marksman appeared to just walk onto the team bus - putting up one hand to acknowledge the crowd.
Upon realisating they wouldn't be meeting the former Borussia Dortmund man, the fans loudly booed the centre-forward.
In Norway’s other two qualifiers, they have lost 3-0 to Spain and drawn 1-1 in Georgia.
