Micah Richards has called for an England player to be dropped immediately but only one condition.

After a shock defeat at the hands of Greece on Thursday at Wembley, England got back to winning ways on Sunday night with a 3-1 win over Finland in Helsinki.

Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Declan Rice were all on target in the Nations League clash for Lee Carsley's men.

Alexander-Arnold filled in at left-back for the clash, firing in a superb free-kick for his fourth England goal after a cheeky bet with fellow scorer Grealish.

Still, it didn't stop Roy Keane from slating the Liverpool star's defensive abilities and stating he "can't believe how bad he is".

But former England defender Richards had some strong opinions on the right-back situation.

After being dropped for Carsley's first camp, Kyle Walker was selected again and had the captain's armband vs Finland following Harry Kane's withdrawal.

Yet with the Manchester City skipper not getting any younger, Richards questions whether Walker should be in the mix if he is not going to in the 2026 World Cup squad.

"We've got to look forward," he said on the Rest is Football podcast.

"Is Kyle Walker going to the World Cup? If he's going to the World Cup, keep him within the side.

"If he's not going to be going to the World Cup, what's the point? This is what I don't understand.

"Kyle Walker is two years younger than me so he'll be 34. As long as he's fit and healthy and definitely going to go to the World Cup I don't mind it - if we're going to build up with a three at the back and he's going to use his pace on the counter attack.

"But if he's not going to be involved later on, why don't you try someone else?

"Play the players who are potentially going to be playing at the World Cup."

England's final two fixtures in the Nations League take place next month when they take a trip to Athens to play Greece, followed by a visit of the Republic of Ireland at Wembley.
