An artificial intelligence tool has made some bold predictions when selecting England’s 26-man squad for Euro 2024.
We are just 26 days away from England's opening game in Group C against Serbia and manager Gareth Southgate has some tough decisions to make.
He will select his provisional 30-man ‘training’ squad ahead of friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland.

That squad will then cut down to 26 players for the Euros.
In the meantime, Footy Accumulators used Google’s Gemini AI model to select England’s squad for the upcoming tournament.
Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden all feature after superb individual campaigns, while Jack Grealish, Anthony Gordon, James Maddison and Jordan Henderson miss out.
The AI also snubbed a number of big-name picks, including Chelsea's player of the season Cole Palmer and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who was outstanding throughout his breakthrough campaign under Erik ten Hag.

The bookies disagree with the supercomputer, with Palmer at 1/10 odds to be selected, and Mainoo at 2/7.
However, the AI was not entirely against bringing young talent to Germany. Adam Wharton, one of Crystal Palace's standout performers this season, gets a call-up.
And so does Harvey Elliott, who has never received a call-up to the senior squad.

Perhaps the most surprising of all the AI tool’s squad selections was Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe, who has made just three starts in the Premier League all season.
