Senior England players make dramatic plea to teammates after nation turns on them for Euro 2024 performances

Senior England players make dramatic plea to teammates after nation turns on them for Euro 2024 performances

Experienced members of England's squad's gesture has been revealed ahead of their final Euro 2024 group game.

Senior England stars have reportedly made a plea for younger players in the squad to not panic after a disappointing start to Euro 2024.

The Three Lions have taken four points from their opening two games against Serbia and Denmark but have not impressed with their performances.

England have looked sluggish and leggy, lacking balance and struggling with both passing and pressing.

Gareth Southgate is expected to change things up for the final group game against Slovenia on Tuesday, potentially abandoning his experiment of playing Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield.

Vice-captain Kyle Walker was incredibly positive in his post-match interview after the Denmark, stressing that there was no crisis.

And according to the Daily Mail, that has been the message from the most experienced members of the group.

They are making a conscious effort to shut out any kind of negativity and to make sure everyone remains calm, particularly with 10 of England's 26-man squad taking part in their first major tournament with England.

The mood in the camp at the moment is described as "stable" despite criticism from the media and fans.

England were back in training at their base in Blankenhain on Saturday as they gear up for a meeting with Slovenia in Cologne.

Every player was involved in the session, apart from left-back Luke Shaw, who is still not fit and is undergoing an individual training programme.

He trained indoors alone and there are huge doubts as to whether the Manchester United defender will feature at all in the tournament.

Jarrod Bowen spoke to the media and urged supporters to continue to get behind the team after they were booed off on Thursday.

"I get it as well because you want to win the games and be in the best position possible," he told a press conference, as per ESPN.

"But sometimes it is not as easy as that. It is my first tournament so it is my first time seeing England at a major tournament with the fans and the following it is. For me, it is one of the best.

"Yes, we're disappointed that we haven't won the game but those are the standards we have set. My message to the fans would be 'keep sticking with it, keep showing the support you have because for me to experience it has been incredible.' Stick with it and we'll see you on Tuesday."
