However, ahead of England’s opener against Serbia on June 16, drinking rules in German stadia will reportedly be tightened.
While German league games allow fans to drink in their seats, the Sun claim that at the Euros only two beers at a time will be able to be bought at stadium bars. Moreover, they will need to be consumed before supporters take their seats to watch the action.
Moreover, restrictions in parts of Gelsenkirchen city centre, where England’s opener will be hosted, will have restrictions on alcohol sales in glasses and bottles. Indeed, police are set to throw a ring of steel around sensitive sites.

Fans will be glad to hear, however, that no confirmed alcohol bans were planned at Euro stadia.
Chief Police Director Peter Both told the Sun: “In contrast to the league match, we have agreed that alcoholic drinks purchased in the stadium may not be taken into the stadium.
“This means that they cannot, as is usually the case, buy two carriers of beer and then take them to their seats.
