Crystal Palace have submitted a shock offer to sign Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on loan, according to stunning reports.
Van de Beek, 24, has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at United since his £35m signing from Ajax in 2020.
The Dutchman, who is under contract until 2025, has only scored once in 14 appearances for United across all competitions this season.
It is believed that Van de Beek is open to a move away from Old Trafford in a bid to revitalise his career and secure a place in Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The former Ajax star has attracted interest from both Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund, but Crystal Palace have now entered the race to sign Van de Beek.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Eagles made a ‘straight loan proposal’ to United on Tuesday for Van de Beek.

However, United reportedly want Crystal Palace to cover the Netherlands international’s £100,000-a-week wages until the end of the season.
The Red Devils will also refuse to include an outright option to buy Van de Beek at the end of his loan spell.
“Update on Donny van de Beek. Crystal Palace have submitted [a] straight loan proposal tonight -- it's now a direct negotiation with Man United,” Romano tweeted.
“There are also other clubs interested. Manchester United want full salary paid until June to let him leave -- no buy option.”
United interim manager Ralf Rangnick admitted that he could “understand” Van de Beek’s desire to play, but he insisted there is a “lot of competition in our squad.”
Speaking to United’s official website, he said: “I mean, it's the same situation as it is with Dean [Henderson]. I'm glad to have him in the squad, he came on in a last 15-20 minutes against [Aston] Villa in the cup game and he did well.

“He's always performing on a high level in training. For him, I have a conversation two weeks ago after training exactly about that.
“I told him I would advise him to stay until the end of the season, and then, of course, with the World Cup coming up in winter, he wants to play in the World Cup for his country and Louis van Gaal obviously told him that in order to be a regular starter for the World Cup, he needs to regularly play for his team.
“I can understand his desire to play, on the other hand, we have a lot of competition in our squad in exactly those positions.”
