David De Gea is reported to be 'on the verge of signing a new contract' which is news that some Manchester United supporters aren't pleased to hear.
The 32-year-old's current deal is set to expire at the end of June which is believed to be worth £375,000 per-week. However, manager Erik ten Hag is confident that the Spaniard will extend his 12-year stay at Old Trafford by signing an extension.
It is understood that a new offer is on the table for the goalkeeper, although it would see his current pay almost halved with concerns coming from the players' camp that he may not be first choice in between the sticks next season.

This season's Premier League Golden Glove winner could also be in line for a testimonial match should he extend his stay, having joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, De Gea has 'agreed terms' to stay and is now waiting for United officials to sign off the deal. However, he is aware that his current position as number one is no longer concrete.
Ten Hag desires a goalkeeper who is comfortable playing out from the back and the Spaniard received widespread criticism for his performance in Saturday's FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

The goalkeeper was criticised for both of Ilkay Gundogan's goals, which sandwiched a Bruno Fernandes penalty to give City a 2-1 win, and supporters have taken to Twitter to share their disappointment with the news.
One supporter tweeted: “Pathetic. Madrid and Barca are letting players who are useful go, whilst we hanging onto a GK who can’t pass, can’t command his box, wets himself when a cross comes in and his shot stopping isn’t as good as it was 5 years ago.”
Another wrote: “I love de gea he has done a fantastic job the past 12 years but we need a keeper who will move out into the box instead of being rooted to the goal line. His distribution is woefully bad and the mistakes are very costly. We need a keeper who will command the entire box.”
A third commented: “He's washed. The first goal he just watched it go by. Seen it too many times this season, get him out he's got too comfy with his starting role week in and week out.”

A fourth noted: “Real Madrid just let go of Benzema, Hazard and Asensio this week and we’re keeping a hold of a guy who’s cost us so many trophies in the last 12 years to be on the bench even Spurs are letting go of Lloris.”
United are still in the process of a potential takeover with a deal still yet to be confirmed which would see the Glazer family part ways with their majority stake. Whether the delay could also impact the announcement of De Gea's contract is unknown.
