Cristiano Ronaldo might have showed why Erik ten Hag prefers to start him on the bench for Manchester United, with his terrible piece of attempted skill, as you can see in the video below.
Ronaldo's beginning of the campaign has been marred by his desire to leave United this summer, an aspiration that was never fulfilled in the transfer window.

With his chances of leaving all but ended with the slamming shut of said window last week, the 37-year-old now has to get on with life at Old Trafford.
He's having to get used to be used as a substitute for Erik ten Hag's team, with the Dutchman preferring to use Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial up front.
That was the case on Sunday, with Rashford starting as the number nine against Arsenal and scoring twice in the 3-1 win, to end the Gunner's 100% start to the season.
Perhaps Ronaldo wouldn't have been trying to pull off a trick whilst having a kick about with Fred and Casemiro if he had started, but it wasn't a great look for the five time Ballon d'Or winner.

The 37-year-old did get on to the pitch around the hour mark on Sunday, as debutant Antony made way for his fellow forward, but not before grabbing his first goal for the club.
It was one of the better performances of late for the former Real Madrid star, as he proved he has the skills to fit into Ten Hag's system.
His ability to press the way the Dutchman would like has been brought up, as it was when Ralf Rangnick took over on an interim basis last December.

However, when he came against Arsenal, Ronaldo definitely showed that he's got it in him to press from the front, even if it wouldn't be for a full 90 minutes.
Antony scored just days after signing for United and one Arsenal fan really will have to watch what he says in future, after discovering he has the power to jinx his own team.
Lee Gunner was doing a live video of his reaction to the game and was talking down the impact the former Ajax man was having on the match.

He picked the worst time to start making that point however, as the Brazilian scored just seconds later thanks to a wonderful flowing move, and an advantage given by the referee.
