Manchester United fans were left stunned by what Wolves’ Matheus Cunha did ahead of their Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday (April 20).
Man United and Wolves were warming up ahead of their Premier League fixture on Sunday in what is a dead rubber, with both sides clear of the relegation positions and potential European qualification spots.
But if any player can create headlines for his actions both on and off the pitch, it is Cunha, who, despite being Wolves’ star man this season with 14 goals in the Premier League, has annoyed supporters in recent weeks.

Last weekend, he posted a photograph to his Instagram story with the caption: “Time to be happy, I will follow my dreams, not yours... So stay cool."
This story was then circulated by Wolves supporters on X and prompted a furious response from the Wolves fan account talkingwolves.
The Brazilian then commented on the post, he wrote: “Do you know what you want?

“For people to not like me here, unfortunately, I'm going to the field to solve the problem of your favourite club.
"I'm not here looking for alternatives to be someone important. Fans root for their own, they don't create misfortunes all the time."
On Sunday, two videos from the warm-ups at Old Trafford emerged, with one appearing to show Cunha wiping the turf onto his legs, which you can view here.

A second video – see here - then appeared to show the 25-year-old waving to fans inside the stadium.

Fans were quick to give their thoughts on social media.
One said: "It’s water pal."
Another added: "Some kind of before game rituals for him I think."
While a third explained: "He’s desperate to join us [Man Utd]."

Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that United are "considering a summer move for Matheus Cunha". The outlet claims the Brazilian has a release clause worth £62.5million in his current contract, which he signed in January of this year.
“I had a lot of offers but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” Cunha told The Guardian in March. “Some things you can’t control but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
