BBC presenter Gary Lineker owes panellist Rio Ferdinand after watching Portugal crash out of Euro 2024.
Cristiano Ronaldo has played in his final European Championship after France knocked Portugal out on penalties at the quarter-final stage.
After a dull 0-0 draw, the game went to spot kicks and Ronaldo stepped up first for his country, just days after being left in tears following a miss in extra-time against Jan Oblak in the round of 16.

Ronaldo converted his penalty, just as he did in the shootout against Slovenia, but Joao Felix’s miss cost Portugal a place in the semi-final.
During the game, BBC pundits Lineker and Ferdinand had a bet involving the legendary forward.
The bet revolved around whether Ronaldo would allow Bruno Fernandes to take the first free-kick of the game after he went viral for his speculative efforts in the Slovenia win.

Lineker said: “I had a bet with Rio [for a] bottle of wine. I said Ronaldo will take this free-kick and you went, 'Nope, it's going to be Bruno this time.”
Surprisingly, Ronaldo handed the chance to the Manchester United captain meaning Ferdinand was the winner of the bet.
Ferdinand said: “The reason why was because Cristiano told me before the game that he was going to give it to Bruno. So you owe me a bottle of Sassicaia. A big expensive bottle.”

Ronaldo has already confirmed he will not feature in another European Championship following Portugal’s exit and broke his social media silence on their defeat on Sunday.
He wrote on Instagram: “We wanted more. We deserved more. For us. For each one of you. For Portugal.
“We are grateful for everything you have given us and for everything we have achieved so far.
“On and off the field, I am sure that this legacy will be honoured and will continue to be built. Together.”
