Cristiano Ronaldo once blocked popular statistics website Transfermarkt for lowering his market value and the entire story has finally been told.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner wasn't happy with the website for lowering his transfer value and blocked them on Instagram a few years ago.
Transfermarkt's UK manager, Daniel Busch, explained the situation to The Athletic and it's as petty on Ronaldo's behalf as you're thinking.
Busch said: "I think we put a list (on Instagram) with 10 players, 33 and older, and he (Ronaldo) was still in first place, but he said he must be worth much more.
"He sent a message first to our social media guys. They answered him, explained why, and told him, ‘The people in your own age group, you are by far the number one’. I think it was £30-50 million difference (between Ronaldo and the next player on the list), and then he sent some smilies, and then he blocked us."
In case it wasn't obvious yet after nearly 20 years, Ronaldo takes this kind of stuff VERY seriously.
Christian Schwarz, the site's coordinator of market values, said Ronaldo's age factors into their algorithms and also used Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi as an example.
He added: "I think age is now one of the most important factors.
"And Cristiano Ronaldo is old - of course the same as (Lionel) Messi, and they will get (their value reduced) just because of their age.
"Even if they are just as good as three years ago. they are three years older."
Ronaldo's current value on Transfermarkt is £31.5 million.
Wonder if he's ever wanted to unblock them and have a gander.
The Portugal international has scored 14 goals in 24 appearances for Manchester United this season after returning for a second stint.
He turns 37 next month but is still performing at a high level in the Premier League and Champions League.
Earlier this month saw him throw a strop after being replaced by Harry Maguire in United's 3-1 win over Brentford.
Interim manager Ralf Rangnick had to sit down and have a chat with Ronaldo, who had thrown his coat to the ground in fury.
