Bayern Munich have made a surprise decision on Eric Dier’s future.
Dier has made six appearances for Bayern so far, including four starts since securing a loan move to the 33-time German champions.
The most recent of those saw him help Bayern on Saturday to a 2-1 home win against RB Leipzig.

As per the Athletic, Dier has met the contractual obligations required to turn his Bayern loan into a permanent transfer at the end of the season. That’s despite the club having announced that manager Thomas Tuchel is set to depart at the end of the season.
The original deal, struck with Tottenham in January, was due to run until the end of the season, with the option of a further year.
The option has allegedly now been triggered, with the England international set to stay at Bayern until June 2025.

The Bavarian giants paid Spurs a reported €4million loan fee (£3.42million). Bayern will reportedly register the 30-year-old as a free agent upon the conclusion of his Spurs contract expires.
Dier’s time in north London was set to end at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, with the player allowed to talk to foreign clubs about a pre-contract agreement.
He had only made four appearances in all competitions under Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian favouring Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven.

Full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal have also been preferred to Dier in the centre of defence.
Bayern, eight points adrift of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, are next in action against SC Freiburg on Friday.
Upon signing for Bayern in January, Dier said: "Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredible history.
"I want to help the team with my versatility in defence. I'm really looking forward to my new team-mates and the fans at the Allianz Arena, which in my eyes is one of the best stadiums in the world."
