Barcelona are reportedly interested in Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and could offer Marc-Andre ter Stegen as part of a swap deal.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona are drawing up plans to sign Italy international Donnarumma in the summer transfer window.
Donnarumma joined PSG on a free transfer in June after leaving boyhood club AC Milan.
The 22-year-old was widely expected to become the first-choice goalkeeper at PSG after signing a five-year deal at the Parc des Princes.
However, Donnarumma has had to share goalkeeping duties with Keylor Navas, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino yet to settle on his preferred number one.
Donnarumma admitted earlier this season that he’s frustrated by his current role.
“It doesn’t affect my performances, but it bothers me,” Donnarumma told TNT Sports.
“It’s not easy because I’m used to always being first choice, and it hurts to be on the bench.
“I’m sure the situation will resolve itself, though.”
Barcelona were linked with Donnarumma prior to his move to PSG and are said to be monitoring the situation.
According to Fichajes, Barcelona are willing to propose a summer swap deal for the Italian, with Ter Stegen heading the other way.
Ter Stegen has been Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper for half a decade but has come under fire for his performances this season.
Barcelona may look to use Ter Stegen in a potential deal for Donnarumma, while Bayern Munich have also been linked with the Germany international.
Bayern are searching for a long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer, with the 35-year-old’s contract at the Allianz Arena due to expire in the summer of 2023.
