Barcelona caused a stir on social media after appearing to crop defender Sergi Roberto out of a picture.
A picture of forward Ansu Fati and midfielder Pedri was posted on the club’s official Twitter account with a caption that said: “Talent”.
But some eagle eyed fans spotted that the picture was cropped and the original picture subsequently emerged.

The original picture included defender Roberto on the left but for some reason was cut off to just Fati and Pedri.
Fans quickly took to social media to point out what they spotted.
Many replied to Barcelona’s tweet with the original picture that includes Roberto.

One fan joked: “Put Sergi Roberto back on the picture or I report this account.”
Another tweeted: “Poor Sergi Roberto.”
And a third simply asked: “Why did you cut Sergi Roberto?”
There are no doubts that both Fati and Pedri are two of the biggest talents that Barcelona have but it seemed slightly harsh to cut out Roberto who came through the ranks at the Nou Camp club. The Spanish defender has made over 200 appearances in the La Liga for Barcelona and famously scored the sixth goal in the dramatic 6-1 win over Paris Saint Germain in last 16 of the 2017 Champions League.

Barcelona endured a turbulent 21/22 season that started incredibly poorly, Lionel Messi left the club and they were knocked out of the group stage of the Champions League, this led to the sacking of club legend Ronald Koeman. Another club legend in the shape of Xavi took over from the Dutchman and things started to improved.
Despite the improvements, they failed to win any silverware, and finished second in La Liga behind Real Madrid.
With the new season on the horizon, Xavi is starting to assemble his squad. To date, they have added two new players to their ranks, in the shape of Danish centre back Andreas Christensen and Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie, both players arrived as a free agent after leaving Chelsea and AC Milan respectively.
The club are also said to be seriously interested in Bayern Munich’s Polish striker Robert Lewandowski but they will have a hard time persuading the Bavarian club to sell.

In terms of outgoings, the future of Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong remains uncertain, it has been well documented that Manchester United want to sign the player but club president Joan Laporta has come out saying De Jong is ‘not for sale’.
After a bitterly disappointing season, the pressure will be on Xavi to deliver better results and silverware as he prepares for his first full season at the Barcelona helm.
