He told Sunday Times: “We are writing it like that. It was planned as three. Spoiler alert - everyone dies.”
The series has faced overwhelming approval with a 92 per cent Rotten Tomatoes rating for season one and a 97 per cent rating for season two.
The series follows Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, who is recruited by fictional English Premier League side AFC Richmond to be their new coach despite having no experience coaching football.

His success as an American college football coach with Wichita State Shockers led to his appointment, but of course, faced scrutiny from his players and owner.
Ted’s personality wins over his team who had been sceptical about coaching style and credentials.
It picked up a wealth of Emmys last year for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series for Sudeikis, and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Hannah Waddingham.
Sudeikis hinted at only three seasons for the show in 2021 when speaking to Entertainment Weekly, however, hoped it would be taken further if the opportunity presented itself.

He said: “The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell, and so that’s the one we’re telling with the help of numerous people in front of and behind the camera, so it’s by no means me typing every key stroke and saying every word.
“It’s nowhere near like that. But the story that’s being told – that three-season arc – is one that I see, know, and understood. I’m glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.”
The Ted Lasso character has drawn comparisons to former American football owner and coach Terry Smith who bought English side Chester City F.C. and installed himself as the first-team coach.
