Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes that he would be worth around £35m in the transfer market if he was still playing football now.
The 35-year-old talkSPORT pundit spent the entirety of his club career with Aston Villa, which included brief loan spells at Watford and Sheffield Wednesday.
Agbonlahor, who retired from professional football in 2019 at the age of 32, scored 86 times and registered 60 assists in 391 appearances for Villa.

When asked how much he would be worth in 2021 at the ‘peak of his powers,’ Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “No, ten times more than [Jamie] O'Hara, so I reckon he would be like £3.5m. So maybe £35m [for myself]?”
Fans were quick to mock Agbonlahor for slapping a hefty £35m transfer valuation on himself.

However, other fans were quick to defend the former England international and they believe that a ‘prime’ Agbonlahor was being overlooked by his critics.
“In his prime, he was actually decent,” one fan said.
A second wrote: “People obviously don't remember when he was playing with Ashley Young, James Miller and Stewart Downing at Villa. Agbonlahor was quality.”

Someone else said: “Standards have progressed a lot since they played.”
Another argued: “In today’s market, with the astronomical prices for players, the £30m-£45m is what you’d get for a Premier League striker.”
While a fifth commented: “People laughing at £35m but [to be honest] look how many players go for that price in today’s game.”
