Arsenal are interested in signing Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as they look to add numbers to their midfield, according to reports.
The Gunners made a number of big summer signings that filled gaps in the squad, or added depth to others. For instance, the likes of Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko have already made big impacts in midfield and defence respectively, whilst Gabriel Jesus is firmly established as Arsenal's leading centre forward.
But one area they could not complete any new additions for was central midfield. They certainly tried to do so, seeing bids for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz rejected on deadline day.

However, the Gunners are now seemingly looking elsewhere - and they may be able to do a cut-price deal for Milinkovic-Savic, although other clubs are also keen.
Arsenal interested in Milinkovic-Savic, PSG also tracking
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal are exploring the signing of Milinkovic-Savic in the upcoming transfer windows.
The deal has emerged as a possibility for Arteta's side due to the Serbian's contract situation at current club Lazio. His deal expires in the summer of 2024, and comments made by the player's agent has added fuel to the flames over a potential exit.

Milinkovic-Savic is represented by Mateja Kezman, the former Serbia striker who spent time with Chelsea, PSV Eindhoven and PSG during his career. He explained (as per Fabrizio Romano): "Sergej has just 18 months left on his contract. We will have to discuss about his situation with Lazio after the World Cup."
It is claimed that Lazio president, Claudio Lotito, wants €120 million for the midfielder.
However, given his contract status, the situation could well be in the hands of the player. If he chooses not to renew, the Italian giants may well have to settle for a lower price next summer.
But despite there reportedly being signs that Milinkovic-Savic could play a "fundamental role" for Arsenal, and that they want to purchase an "outstanding player", it is also claimed by Fichajes that PSG and Juventus are keen on signing the Serbian.

At 27, Milinkovic-Savic is entering his prime years - and Arsenal will hope he is turning out at the Emirates Stadium regularly in the near future.
