Moises Caicedo’s agent set the record straight regarding reports of a special clause in his client’s contract.
Caicedo has been the subject of interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs after a stellar season with Brighton.
Having been central to the Seagulls’ surge to European qualification, the 21-year-old has received reported interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent weeks.

However, on Monday The Athletic’s transfer guru David Ornstein claimed that Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister both had special clauses in their Brighton deals that could help facilitate a move away.
Ornstein claimed that there is a mechanism in both the players’ contracts that can be used to enable a transfer, yet it is not thought to be a typical release clause, where a player has control over their next step.
Instead, it is a “more complex feature” that gives Brighton a say over the outcome.
Moises Caicedo clause
According to Arsenal Informer Caicedo’s agent Manuel Sierra has dismissed reports of a special clause in his client’s contract that could help facilitate a move away.

Sierra added that many clubs were interested in Caicedo, whose current deal runs until 2027, and that the Ecuador international had ambitions to play in the Champions League.
Speaking to Arsenal informer, the agent said: “Arsenal is a great team for everyone; let’s see what happens in the summer, there are many clubs keen on Moises.
“Moises has 4 years left on his contract. He’s having an incredible season, so it’s normal that there are many clubs interested in him. Now he’s completely focused on the last part of the season; all evaluations will be postponed until the summer.
“This is not a surprise because there aren’t many other midfielders so young and talented around Europe. I believe he can really improve in every aspect of the game.

“He can slot into any [team] as he is ready for it all. His dream is to play in the Champions League and to reach as far as he can in football. His idol? Kante.”
