Arsenal target Ivan Fresneda has missed Real Valladolid training amid speculation he is due to join the Gunners.
The Premier League table toppers have so far added Brighton’s Leandro Trossard and Spezia’s Jakub Kiwior to their ranks in an attempt to consolidate their title push.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports’ transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on Wednesday that the club were leading the race to sign 18-year-old right-back Fresneda.

While Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are also battling for the teenager’s signature, it appears Arsenal could be closing in on their third signing of the winter window.

The publication reported that the right-back was “absent with discomfort” either suggesting that he is carrying an injury, or that a future move is on the horizon.
Indeed last week the Athletic claimed that both Arsenal and Dortmund had reached a €15million (£13.2million) agreement for the youngster.
However, Real Valladolid sporting director Fran Sanchez has since insisted the club are yet to receive an offer for Fresneda.
Speaking to Diario AS, via the Evening Standard, Sanchez said: “(Fresneda) has aroused the interest of many teams, but we have not received an official offer,

“But it is true that several clubs have contacted us and that interest of many clubs is real, but there is no official offer.
“We are not desperate trying to sell the player”
With Fulham pursuing a deal for Arsenal’s Cedric Soares, Fresneda could be sought as a replacement.
However, Valladolid reportedly want to keep the teenager on loan until the end of the season even if they agree to sell him this window.
