Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a new contract with the club to secure his future at the Emirates Stadium.
Elneny's previous deal was due to expire this summer, and the Egyptian is currently recovering from a knee injury that is believed, as per injury experts, to potentially be season-ending.
Speaking prior to last month's FA Cup fourth round clash against Manchester City, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta expressed concern over the midfielder, but could not say how much game time he would miss.

And although Arteta hinted that the Gunners would look to extend the defensive midfielder's contract, citing that the club 'has to behave in the right way', there have still been some fears that he may have played his last game for the club.
That is now not to be the case, with the club confirming he has agreed to extend his contract at Arsenal.

The contract will take the Egyptian into his eighth season at the Emirates Stadium, having been signed under Arsene Wenger from Swiss giants Basel in 2016.
It also gives the 30-year-old the opportunity to get back to full fitness and play a role for Arsenal next season. He will look to add to the 155 appearances he has made for Arsenal in all competitions, having featured on eight occasions this term.
Speaking to the club's official website, Elneny stated his delight at extending his stay in north London: "I'm so happy. I love this club and our supporters so much and I'll give everything to help us be the best we can be, every day I'm here.
"It makes me so proud to have represented this amazing club since 2016. The spirit and togetherness we have in our squad right now is so positive and I'm so happy I have extended my contract."
