Arsenal are concerned by their lack of depth in midfield, according to a reputable journalist.
The Gunners have had an exceptional first half of the season. The club’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Manchester United on Sunday, in which Eddie Nketiah netted a last-minute winner, saw Mikel Arteta’s side reclaim a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
Away from the pitch Arsenal have also been active in the January transfer window, to consolidate their position at their summit.

Having missed out on No.1 target Mykhaylo Mudryk, who moved to London rivals Chelsea, Arsenal have signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton and Poland international Jakub Kiwior from Spezia.
Meanwhile, they are allegedly close to the signing of right-back Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid.
However, the Gunners have yet to have signed a midfielder - an area that the club has reportedly internally identified as a weakness.

Nevertheless, the club will reportedly only dip into the market for the “right fit” this month.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT Jones said: “There is concern at Arsenal and there has been since the start of the season. What if we end up with an absence in the centre of midfield?
“There have been times when it’s happened, and it hasn’t been ideal for them, but they ultimately got through it and they’re still top of the league.
“They would like the right fit, again, they’re not going to go and sign someone just for the sake of it.”

The Gunners have been linked with ambitious moves for the likes of Declan Rice and Eduardo Camavinga, however, neither signing is likely to come off in January.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly entered the fray for Brighton’s 21-year-old star Moises Caicedo, while Leicester’s Youri Tielemans is reportedly a long-term target.
