Arsenal target Marcus Thuram will not extend his Borussia Monchengladbach contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have enjoyed a phenomenal start to the season and currently sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
If they are to maintain their title charge they will need to bring more bodies in January- at present Mikel Arteta’s squad does not have the depth to match the riches of Premier League rivals Manchester City.

However, Arsenal fans will feel heartened by the news that reported Gunners target Thuram is unlikely to extend his current deal.
Thuram’s contract situation
Weeks ago reports from Italy claimed that Arsenal and Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are both interested in signing Thuram, while the Gunners’ fierce north London rivals Tottenham are also said to be interested.
Thuram, who is part of Didier Deschamps’ World Cup France squad, will be a free agent at the end of the season, and according to Romano, Gladbach may look to cash in on the forward in January.
The journalist told GIVEMESPORT: “So, there are many clubs approaching his agent. From what I’m told, he’s not going to extend the contract, so it makes a big opportunity for many clubs in the summer.

“Let’s see if Arsenal will decide, or any other club, to negotiate in January for a different price.”
Thuram is ‘phenomenal’
Thuram has been in blistering form for Gladbach this term. The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in all competitions for Die Fohlen.
The Frenchman was once labelled a ‘phenomenal’ striker by Chelsea player and former Gladbach star Denis Zakaria.

Speaking to the club website Zakaria said: “He is a great guy, a little crazy maybe, but what he brings to the pitch is phenomenal."
