The Premier League strugglers were just minutes away from recording their first-ever victory at the Emirates Stadium, only for Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka to dramatically score two late goals for Arsenal.
A 3-3 draw was a disappointing result for both sides. While Southampton had two points snatched away at the last, Arsenal conceded the initiative at the top of the table to City.
The Gunners travel to the Etihad on Wednesday with a five-point advantage over City, though they have played two extra games.

The Premier League have not yet confirmed a date for City’s first game in hand against Brighton.
Pep Guardiola’s men were initially set to face the Seagulls on Saturday, April 22, however, the fixture was postponed with both clubs taking part in an FA Cup semi-final.

Their European exploits mean that City’s game with Brighton will likely take place during the week commencing May 22, which is the last week of the Premier League season.
Meanwhile, City’s other game in hand against West Ham will take place on Wednesday, May 3.
