Footage has emerged showing Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger going on a crazy run during the match against Celta Vigo.
On Saturday evening, Carlo Ancelotti’s side saw off Celta 4-1 after goals from Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde. Iago Aspas was on the score sheet for the hosts.
However, it was Madrid’s summer signing Rudiger who stole the show. The centre back came on for Dani Carvajal in the 69th minute, and towards the end of the match, he produced one of the most outrageous runs you will ever see. You can watch the footage below.
He took the ball from outside his own penalty box and drove into the midfield, finding Benzema who then played the ball to Valverde.

At this point, Rudiger continued his run as he sprinted up the right hand channel, Valverde saw and played an inch perfect through ball for the defender to latch onto.
Rudiger then checked back inside on his left foot before playing a nice pass for Benzema, who flicked it back to the German to shoot but his effort was blocked by a Celta defender. However, it was blocked by the arm of Hugo Mallo , which saw Madrid awarded a penalty.
Eden Hazard took the resulting penalty but saw his effort saved by keeper, Agustin Marchesin.

One fan said: “Nahhhh seriously tho Rudiger is doing these runs on purpose, there is no way it’s his real running style. It’s too funny.”
Another tweeted: “Rudiger doesn’t run, he gallops.”
And a third fan added: “To be honest Rudiger’s run is one of the funniest things I’ve seen today.”

This capped off another good performance by the reigning champions of Spain and Europe.
Away from the pitch, Madrid have now lost one of their most important players of the last few years as Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has agreed to join Premier League side Manchester United.
Casemiro penned an emotional goodbye on his Instagram on Saturday.
He said: “I lived the most wonderful story I ever thought of. I hope to return someday to where it will always be my home.”
