Guests at Michael Schumacher's 'first public appearance in 11 years' were given strict rule to follow

Schumacher's daughter got married last week.

Guests at what was 'very likely' to have been Michael Schumacher's first public appearance in 11 years had one strict rule to follow, it has been reported.

The Formula 1 legend has not been seen publicly since he suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident in December 2013.

He was airlifted to hospital before being placed in a medically induced coma until June 2014.

Schumacher has since been recovering with his family, though it is believed that very few people have access to him.

There have also been no updates about his condition in order to protect his privacy.

Last week, Schumacher's daughter Gina got married in a private ceremony at a property in Mallorca.

And while there has been no explicit confirmation, German outlet BILD report that it is 'very likely' that the seven-time F1 world champion was present at the ceremony.

It is claimed that guests were told to hand over their mobile phones to the property's security, in order to ensure that no images of the property could be taken and then potentially leaked to the press. Schumacher, nor his location, have been pictured since his accident.

His brother, the former Williams and Toyota F1 driver Ralf, is also believed to have been at the wedding.

Although updates about the F1 legend are rare, close friends of Schumacher who have had access to the now 55-year-old have spoken about him to the media.

One of those is his former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt, who would later become the president of the FIA after both he and Schumacher had stopped working for the Scuderia in leading capacities.

Speaking to French outlet L'Equipe in December, Todt said: "Michael is here, so I don't miss him.

"[But he] is simply not the Michael he used to be. He is different, and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him.

"His life is different now, and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That's all there is to say."
