Lewis Hamilton could reportedly make a request to Ferrari that would leave Formula 1 fans worried.
Ahead of the 2025 campaign, all eyes were on seven-time world champion Hamilton as he made a high-profile transfer from Mercedes to Ferrari.
However, the 40-year-old has so far struggled to adapt to his new car.

After a disappointing end to the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, Hamilton cut a dejected figure as he searched for answers.

As reported by Planet F1, Hamilton could soon ask Ferrari to swift their focus to the 2026 car.
He said: "If I’m honest, I don’t know what upgrades we have coming, but we haven’t had an upgrade for some time.
"We’ll keep pushing with what we have, but before too soon, I will just be saying, ‘Let’s focus on next year.’"
Hamilton continued: "So we’re building a foundation this year, learning about the tools, the structures, our processes, and just nailing those, so then when we arrive next year, we will be with the car that we really want.

"I think we are working on next year’s car. Whether or not we are 100 per cent on next year’s car, I can’t comment on. Next year is the championship that’s currently open. This one would be a lot harder to win, but it’s still not closed."

As a result of Hamilton's poor start to the 2025 season, questions have been raised over whether the Brit would call time on his illustrious F1 career.
However, speaking recently on Sky Sport's The F1 Show, commentator David Croft said: "Very simply, Lewis will be around next year. He’s not going anywhere.

"think we were all hoping for more positives, to be honest, especially after China, when he looked an absolute world beater once again."
He added: "He was so down on Sunday. Rachel Brookes was saying that he actually apologised to her after his interview in the pen, and he went and said sorry because he was so down and not the best interviewee she’s ever had.
"Let’s try and offer a bit of hope on this one for him. Ferrari haven’t specified exactly what the issue was, but according to Fred Vasseur [team principal], there was an issue with the car in the final stint, and that wasn’t helping him."
