Formula One icon Adrian Newey is set to earn a stunning amount at new team Aston Martin.
On September 10, legendary Formula One designer Newey was announced as Aston Martin's new chief technical officer, agreeing a new long-term deal with the team.
Having spent nearly two decades with his former team Red Bull, it was a shock when he announced his departure in May.

According to the BBC, Newey will be paid £30m per year, including add-ons and bonuses, on a five-year deal with Aston Martin.
The Daily Mail have also reported that Newey will become a shareholder in the Aston Martin F1 team, with a 2.5% stake included in his contract.

While the exact wages of each of the 20 drivers on the Formula One gird are not known, only Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will definitely earn more than Newey in his new role.
This means it is likely that 65-year-old will earn more than Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, who will both race for Aston Martin next season.
Salaries reported by Front Office Sports claim that Hamilton earns $45m, while Verstappen is the highest earner on the grid with $55m.
Meanwhile, Alonso earns less than half of what Newey, with a reported salary of $18m.

"I am thrilled to be joining Aston Martin," said Newey after he was unveiled by Aston Martin on Tuesday.
"I have been hugely inspired and impressed by the passion and commitment that Lawrence brings to everything he is involved with.
"Lawrence is determined to create a world-beating team. He is the only majority team owner who is actively engaged in the sport.

"They have all the key pieces of infrastructure needed to make Aston Martin a world championship-winning team and I am very much looking forward to helping reach that goal."
Newey will begin work with Aston Martin next season and has mow stepped away from his day-to-day duties with the Red Bull F1 team but he continues to work away from the sport on the RB17 hypercar project.
