Max Verstappen has revealed which Premier League club he supports.

Reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has revealed which Premier League club he supports.

Over the last two years, Red Bull Racing superstar Verstappen has been dominating the sport of F1.

The Dutchman cruised to the 2022 and 2023 titles as his Red Bull car proved too fast for the rest of the grid.

However, despite holding a healthy lead at the top of the standings this season, Verstappen has not won a race since the Spanish Grand Prix in June.

Since Barcelona, the likes of George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc have all tasted victory.

Away from F1, Verstappen recently spoke with transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano and revealed his favourite Premier League team.

The 26-year-old said: “Kevin de Bruyne gave me his City t-shirt. He said, 'I hope you don't mind'.

“He knows that in the Premier League, I support Manchester United!”

In a previous interview, Verstappen also declared his support for Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

As per Formule1.NL, he said: “That started with my father when he was sponsored by Philips. At that time he was regularly invited to PSV matches and sometimes I accompanied him. Gradually a certain bond grows, a click, and you can also associate yourself with that club.

“PSV emotionally suits me better than, say, Ajax. The Amsterdam mentality is different from the Eindhoven warmth. And Limburg is of course also closer to Brabant, in terms of distance. But also in terms of mentality.”

After coming home in sixth place in last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, a frustrated Verstappen said: “It was just another dramatic race. Nothing was running, the car was not running at all. I didn't like the strategy at all, and the pit stop was absolutely crap. We had to drive with less power, so basically everything went wrong.

“Where we drove didn't matter anyway. But you still try to drive your best race, but with our two-stoppers that was definitely not the case. On both hard and medium tyres we were too slow.”

He added: “The way things are going, we are not going to win any more races, but it is what it is.”

F1 will return with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix next weekend, which will take place at the Baku City Circuit on September 15.
