PDC announce massive World Darts Championship prize money increase with Luke Littler and Co set for huge pay rise

PDC chairman Eddie Hearn has confirmed the new World Darts Championship prize money.

The Professional Darts Corporation have confirmed the new World Darts Championship prize money in a stunning announcement.

Luke Littler won the 2025 World Darts Championship after beating Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the final.

The 18-year-old bagged a whopping £500,000 while 'MVG" took home a cool £200,000.

Since 2019, the PDC have offered a total of £2.5 million following a steady increase over the years.

The PDC offered a total of £1 million for the first time in 2010, with a prize money of £200,000.

However, from 2026, the total money has been DOUBLED, meaning a new prize money for the winner.

PDC chairman Eddie Hearn took to social media to confirm the 2026 world champion will receive a staggering £1 million.

And the total money has been increased from £2.5 million to £5 million, with Hearn also confirming that prize funds will be increased across all levels with the PDC.

On X, he wrote: "We are proud to announce this HUGE news.. @OfficialPDC will increase the prize money by £7m+ to £25m next year. The World Champion winner will now receive £1 million & the event will expand to £5m prize money and 128 players.

"Prize funds will be increased across all levels within the PDC with unprecedented investment as the sport continues to rise into a true global powerhouse!"

PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter added: "The £1m prize for the World Champion reflects darts' standing as one of the most exciting and in-demand sports in the world and the historic total will rightly attract headlines as the biggest prize ever paid out in the sport.

"Expanding the player fields for the World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts will provide more opportunities than ever before for players around the world to feature in televised PDC events."

Winner: £1,000,000

Runner-Up: £400,000

Semi-Finalists: £200,000

Quarter-Finalists: £100,000

Last 16 losers: £60,000

Last 32 losers: £35,000

Last 64 losers: £25,000

Last 128 losers: £15,000

Total: £5,000,000
