Luke Littler has explained why he teared up after winning the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship.
After last year's disappointment against Luke Humphries, Littler managed to go one further in 2025, dominating Michael van Gerwen in Friday night's final.
In front of a jubilant crowd inside the Alexandra Palace in London, Littler produced a stunning display to clinch the Sid Waddell trophy with a 7-3 victory.
After pinning Double 16 for the win, Littler celebrated before the emotions took over as he was seen with tears in his eyes. He then shared an embrace with Van Gerwen on stage.

Speaking afterwards in his press conference, Littler revealed the real reason why he was left in tears.
As per The Sun, he said: "As soon as that winning double went in, I couldn’t believe it.
"I was fine and then I looked into the crowd. Everyone was on their feet, that is when the tears came. I looked over to my family and I knew it was mine."

The world number two also stated that he started 'shaking' towards the closing stages of the match.
Littler added: "I didn’t feel any nerves up until the last leg when I started shaking. I thought to myself: ‘I had not shaken all game – so don’t do it now!' It’s heavy (the trophy). It has been a long 2-3 weeks. I cannot wait to go home and get into my own bed."
When asked where he will put the trophy, the teenager replied: "It’s probably going on the living-room floor. To see it there and know it’s mine, I cannot wait."
Apart from the much coveted Sid Waddell trophy, Littler also picked up the Ballon D'Art award, which was handed out by tournament sponsors Paddy Power for hitting the most 180s during the tournament.
