Former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, who looks increasingly likely to become Burnley’s new permanent manager after leaving Belgian side RSC Anderlecht less than two weeks ago, is reportedly already looking at possible replacements ahead of a raft of expected departures at Turf Moor this summer.
Burnley were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of last season, and having parted ways with former manager Sean Dyche back in April, look set to appoint Vincent Kompany as the new head coach of the Lancashire club.
Kompany, who returned to Belgium after leaving the Etihad Stadium following 11 years and 360 appearances in the summer of 2019, is now poised to turn to the Premier League Champions’ academy, as he looks to lead the Clarets back to the top-flight.

Turf Moor are bracing themselves for a number of high-profile departures this summer, including goalkeeper Nick Pope - with several clubs reportedly interested in signing the 30 year-old shot-stopper.
Should Pope leave the Clarets this summer, then Vincent Kompany would reportedly look at replacing the Englishman with Arijanet Muric, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Muric, who has made five senior appearances for Manchester City since signing in 2017, spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Turkish club Adana Demirspor, where the 23 year-old kept 10 clean sheets in 32 appearances.
The Kosovan international is claimed to be highly rated by Vincent Kompany, despite a largely turbulent few years which has seen him play at the likes of Nottingham Forest, Girona, Willem II, and most recently Adana Demirspor.

Arijanet Muric is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2024, though it is currently unknown whether Burnley would look to sign the Manchester City goalkeeper on loan or on a permanent deal, should they need to replace Nick Pope.
The 23 year-old is the latest Manchester City Academy player to be linked with a possible move to Turf Moor, as centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis had also been mooted as potentially linking up with the City legend.
