Ruben Dias has provided an interesting insight into how Erling Haaland has settled in at Manchester City.

The Norway international completed a £51 million move to the Etihad Stadium in late-June and has already made a goalscoring start.

He found the back of the net inside 12 minutes of his pre-season debut. Against Bayern Munich, Haaland latched onto Jack Grealish's low cross to divert the ball home from six yards.

Despite such a positive start, his next appearance in the Community Shield was maybe proof that the striker needed a period of time to get used to his new teammates.

That was all proved null and void on the Premier League opening weekend when Haaland bagged a brace against West Ham United.

He slotted his first away from the spot after winning the penalty with ease and his second showed everything the 22-year-old is about.

Kevin De Bruyne's expert through-ball sent Haaland clean through on goal and he opened up his body to slot the ball into the left corner, in front of the joyous City fans.

There has been some exciting reactions to such a flying start, but Ruben Dias - also a starter last Sunday - has provided some interesting insight into how the Norwegian has settled into life in Manchester.

Speaking to the Sun, he said: “We are in the process of getting to know him and him getting to know us. The games will allow us to speed up the process.

“I’m very happy for him for having scored the two goals today in his first Premier League game.

“It is going to be great for his confidence as well and for the team because we know what he can give us.”

Dias continued, “On Sunday we saw the sort of help Haaland can bring to this team.

“At this point it is very important to play games together, that he adapts to us, we adapt to him and he feels more and more connected with the team.

“Despite all the individuals we have in the squad, this team only works if we work together as a team.”

Haaland will have his first taste of action at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

City take on AFC Bournemouth in search of a second consecutive victory to kick-off their Premier League title defence.

In such a disrupted season, any momentum Pep Guardiola's side can build is vital in ensuring domestic success come May.

Of course, Haaland will want to have his say and introduce himself to the Etihad faithful with a goal.
