Rodri believes that there is no better club to be playing at than Manchester City, after he signed a new long-term contract on Tuesday.
Rodri joined the Citizens in the summer of 2019 from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in a £62.8 million move.
This was a record transfer for City at the time and has since only been eclipsed by the £100 million spent on Jack Grealish last summer.
Since joining the Blues, Rodri has settled into the team well and now is one of the first names on the team sheet due to his ever growing quality in defensive midfield.

The 26 year-old’s position is seen as one of if not the most important role in a Pep Guardiola team, with the Spaniard acting as the pivot between defence and attack, as well as giving the defensive line some well needed cover when City’s fullbacks go forward.
Guardiola himself played in Rodri’s position, so the City manager clearly saw and still sees the quality in the player to continue doing the job for England’s top side.
This faith has seen Rodri sign a new contract with the Premier League Champions on Tuesday, penning a new three-year contract that will keep him at City until 2027.

The midfielder himself has had his say on the deal while being interviewed for the club’s official website, and sees the decision as a no brainer.
“If I can show the level I have in the last three years, I feel I can be even better,” Rodri told City’s website.
“I am very happy with that, and I think the club think the same, which is why we have both agreed to continue here.
“We are both happy. There is no better place to be.”
During his time at the Etihad, Rodri has made 151 appearances and has scored 13 goals as well as assisting 9 more.

The midfielder has also become a regular for the Spanish national team, providing some much needed competition for the ageing Barcelona star Sergio Busquets.
Despite the new contract, Rodri will also face some competition at City, following the arrival of Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United last week.
Phillips, a fellow centre defensive midfielder, signed a six-year contract after a £42 million transfer was agreed between City and Leeds.

Rodri will hope the next five seasons wield as much silverware as his first three, as the Spaniard has already won two Premier League titles in his time in Manchester, as well as two Carabao Cups and an FA Community Shield.
