Ever since Pep Guardiola handpicked Phil Foden as the chosen one from Manchester City’s academy, the fanbase has taken to the ‘Stockport Iniesta'.
The youngster bided his time at the Etihad Stadium and waited for his chance, as opposed to inching towards a temporary switch away from the club for the purposes of more game time.
Upon receiving his big break, the England international grabbed the opportunity with both hands and as they say, the rest is history.

Since 'Project Restart' in 2020, Phil Foden has become a regular fixture in this Sky Blues side and is easily one of the club's most integral players.
Naturally, the academy graduate is a fan favourite, as he has come up the ranks at Manchester City to become one of the best young players in world football.
After penning a contract extension with the Premier League champions until the summer of 2027 on Friday, Phil Foden has discussed how he feels to be on the receiving end of such significant support from the Etihad faithful.

“Massively, it gives me the confidence," he began.
"When I score a goal or do something well and they sing my name, it makes me feel comfortable and I just want to keep doing better for them."
Recently, the Englishman was one of two boyhood blues - alongside Erling Haaland - to score a hat-trick in the Manchester Derby.
The versatile attacker lifted the lid on his feelings after putting three goals past Manchester United by saying, “I don’t think anything beats it.

"It’s definitely been one of my favourite moments in my career."
He continued, "All my friends used to always have jokes saying, ‘You could definitely score in the derby one day.’
"Then eventually did it so yeah, it’s a special moment for me.”

Despite being one of the most well-rounded attacking players in the country, the 22-year old revealed that he is still striving to improve his game.
“It’s such an easy thing to say but, a lot more.
"I feel like I can add a lot more goals and hopefully this season, I’m seemingly doing that so hopefully, I can keep going down that road.”
