Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been impressed with how Sergio Gomez has settled in following his arrival from RSC Anderlecht.
The Premier League champions put an end to their issues at left-back by completing the signing of the Spaniard for a deal worth £11 million plus add-ons.
A boyhood Manchester City fan, Gomez joins Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega and Kalvin Phillips in through the door at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

The Spain U-21 international has been given the iconic number 21 shirt, previously donned by Manchester City legend and four-time Premier League winner David Silva, who departed the club in 2020.

Having seen each of his new signings impress in pre-season, Guardiola was asked how Sergio Gomez has managed to fit into his new surroundings ahead of City's trip to Newcastle this weekend.
The Catalan said: "So good so far, no complaints. He (Gomez) is settling into the department, his mood is exceptional and he is starting to know us."
Guardiola confirmed Gomez is in contention to be thrown straight into action against the Magpies on Sunday as Manchester City search for their third win of the league season.

"Yes, (Gomez is ready). I think so (part of plans for Sunday)," the 51-year-old added.
Whilst some of their rivals have made rather underwhelming starts to their respective seasons, City have so far maintained a perfect start to their title defence.
