Pep Guardiola has remained tight-lipped on his contract situation, though the Manchester City manager insisted that "everything was under control."
Manchester City face Brentford in their final match before the FIFA World Cup pause, with the Sky Blues having the opportunity to head into the break at the top of the Premier League table.

Pep Guardiola's current contract situation is also widely reported to be addressed during the upcoming hiatus, with the 51 year-olds current deal expiring at the end of the season.

The Catalan, who became Manchester City manager in 2016, last extended his contract in November 2020.
Graeme Bailey reported earlier this week that the club were hopeful that Guardiola would sign a new deal before the end of the year.
The journalist also claimed that the club have a 'broad agreement' in place with the City's bosses representatives over a new deal until 2025.

Despite these reports, Guardiola remained tight-lipped when quizzed about his future ahead of Saturday's match with Brentford in the Premier League.
"I don't talk about that, everything is under control. Together with the club. Tomorrow is important," said the 51 year-old.
"It's one game. I said many times, I have the feeling the club and myself are happy together. Tomorrow Brentford is only important thing. After if we feel it both sides, we will see."
Asked about his motivation to potentially continue with City beyond the summer, Guardiola said: "Having fun. In the stressful moments, it's not always happy, things don't always work as you think.

"I'm not alone. It's not about achievements. 6/7 years, seeing you are comfortable here."
City are bidding to win a third successive Premier League title this season, and are currently just two points behind league leaders Arsenal.
The Blues are also unbeaten in Europe so far this season and set-up a knockout stage tie with RB Leipzig earlier this week, as City try to also win the coveted UEFA Champions League.
