20-man Manchester City squad spotted in training ahead of Champions League clash with Sevilla

A Manchester City outfield squad of 20 players was spotted in training on Monday morning, ahead of their European trip to Sevilla this week.

A list of 20 outfield Manchester City players have been spotted in training on Monday morning, ahead of their opening Champions League group stage clash this week.

The Premier League champions travel to Sevilla later on Monday, taking on the La Liga side on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side come in to the clash off the back of a frustrating and disappointing 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday evening, but will be seeking a strong start to their European campaign.

Manchester City sustained one injury blow at Villa Park at the weekend, with full-back Kyle Walker being replaced through injury.

Elsewhere, Aymeric Laporte is not expected back until after the international break after recovering from surgery early in the summer.

Training for the final time at the City Football Academy ahead of their flight to Spain, a list of 20 outfield players have been spotted out on the surface on Monday morning.

While Manchester City's collection of goalkeepers were not captured by club videographers on Monday morning, it is understood that there are no problems concerning any of the trio.

All of Ederson, Stefan Ortega Moreno, and Scott Carson are expected to travel with the team to Spain on Monday afternoon, completing a 23-man squad for their opening Champions League fixture.

One concern however, is that Kyle Walker was not spotted reporting for training on Monday, presumably ruled out with the injury sustained on Saturday.

Aymeric Laporte continues to be absent, however the returns of Kalvin Phillips and Manuel Akanji will be welcome boosts to Pep Guardiola and his trim squad this week.

Following the trip to Spain, Manchester City will immediately return to Premier League duties.

Pep Guardiola's side will host high-flying Tottenham on Saturday evening - in a clash between the league's only two remaining unbeaten sides so far this season.
