Since joining Manchester City in a £51 million transfer over the summer, Erling Haaland has been the name on everyone’s lips in the footballing world.
With just 13 games played so far for the Premier League champions, the 22-year-old has already managed to net a staggering 20 goals and provide a further three assists.
His explosive start in England will not come as a shock to many, with the Norway international already scoring at a similarly frightening rate at his previous clubs.
After moving to Austria with RB Salzburg from his home nation, Haaland found the back of the net on 29 occasions, having only played a total of 27 matches for the club.

At his most recent club Borussia Dortmund, the striker scored a whopping 86 goals in 89 games, including 62 strikes in the Bundesliga alone.
This mesmeric goal scoring form has attracted interest from Europe’s top clubs, hence his recent Manchester City move, but inevitably will continue to do so given his form in Manchester.
City were prepared for this, and inserted a release clause into his contract, according to Pol Ballus of The Athletic.

Ballus writes that the release clause is €200 million - approximately £175.5 million - and will come into play in the summer of 2024.
This will be two years into Erling Haaland’s City deal and the value of the clause will then decrease as his five-year contract runs down.
His release clause applies to any club outside of England, including Real Madrid who Haaland has been regularly linked with over the past two years.

The good news for City fans is that the clause prohibits any Premier League rivals from triggering this option during the striker’s stay in Manchester.
This means that any moves from Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United, among others, would be met with major complications.
It is unclear how long Haaland will stay at Manchester City, but this may come as relieving news to the sky blue fanbase who have already become besotted with the goal getter.

Haaland will next be in action with City tonight should he play a part in their away trip to Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage.
City’s star man is no stranger to this opponent, having played them last week, scoring two goals in one half as his side romped to a 5-0 thrashing win.
A victory in Denmark would confirm the Premier League champions’ place in the knockout rounds and continue their perfect record in Group G, as Pep Guardiola’s side have already won their first three European fixtures this campaign.
