The summer of 2022 has been one of massive change for Manchester City.
In the past, Pep Guardiola has stressed that constantly refreshing and replenishing the squad is important in ensuring a consistent hunger for success.
That means the likes of Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko - all multiple title winners - have moved on to pastures new.

As has former club captain, Fernandinho, who bid an emotional farewell to the Etihad Stadium this summer after nine years of incredible service.
Coming into the club, the standout transfer is the £51 million deal to bring Erling Haaland to East Manchester.
The Norway international arrived with elite goalscoring pedigree and has already bagged two goals and one assist in his opening two Premier League games.

Other than Haaland, Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips made a brave switch over the Pennines to link-up with Guardiola and hopefully take his game to a new level.
Stefan Ortega was signed on a free transfer to compete with Ederson, while Sergio Gomez will provided much-needed back-up at left-back.
Despite all this activity, one player has dominated the headlines all summer - Bernardo Silva.
The tenacious midfielder has reportedly held a long-term desire to leave the club in search of a fresh challenge, away from the Manchester lifestyle.

For a long time, it has been clear Barcelona are the most likely suitors and the two parties have flirted over a potential move for over two years.
However, due to long-standing financial trouble at the Camp Nou, Barça have struggled to even register new signings and fresh contract extensions.
It makes a move for Silva increasingly unlikely and it seems the player himself has now realised that.

According to the Athletic, Silva is ready to commit his immediate future to City and abandon any thoughts of a transfer for this season at least.
He is now understood to be focusing firmly on the season ahead, and the past few days have brought a softening in the player’s position and an apparent willingness to forget about a move, at least for the coming season.
In fact, some people at the club believe Silva could even extend his contract at the Etihad, which currently runs until 2025.
Barcelona's financial trouble was always going to make any move for one of the world's best extremely difficult.

However, this does not rule out the possibility of them returning with more funds available next summer.
