Issa Kabore is set for another loan spell in Ligue 1.
Despite coming off the back of a stellar season-long loan spell at Troyes, there remains a question mark around Issa Kabore’s future, with a host of suitors for Manchester City’s highly-rated right-back.
After all, it is widely known that newly-promoted side Nottingham Forest made an audacious £17 million bid to sign the Burkinabe defender, which was eventually rejected.
Other clubs in the Premier League were also reportedly eyeing Kabore’s signature, albeit on loan such as Southampton and Brentford.

Recently, it was also claimed that Serie A giants, Inter Milan were interested in signing the Sky Blues talent on loan for the 2022/23 campaign.
While it seems as if such offers were turned down by Pep Guardiola’s side, a return to France for the prodigy looks to have been approved by the club.
As per the latest information provided by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Issa Kabore will head to Olympique Marseille on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
Interestingly, it is also stated that a buy option for €20 million has also been included as a part of the deal.
Further details suggest that the starlet arrived in Marseille on Saturday to finalize the deal.

Despite plying his trade for 15th placed Troyes during the 2021/22 campaign, Kabore was hailed as one of Ligue 1’s standout right-backs by many.
Earning 26 league starts for City’s sister club, the prodigious defender was one of the few bright spots for a side that suffered more lows than highs.
The 21-year old managed to translate the success at club level in national colours as well.

After all, Issa Kabore was named as the Best Young Player at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, which is testament to the breakout season he experienced last term.
While there have been whispers about the ex-Mechelen man being in line for a place at the Etihad Stadium, it’s safe to say that such a possibility is not set to become reality anytime soon.
After all, City potentially have two of Europe’s finest right-backs in Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo at their disposal.
