Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has commented on reports of Erling Haaland's Manchester City release clause, as well as the Premier League champions beating his club to a major award this week.
The reigning Premier League champions were crowned as the Club of the Year award at the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday night.
That prize followed on from Pep Guardiola's side receiving the highest number of nominations across the different categories at the Ballon d’Or.

Manchester City took home the crown ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool, who finished in second place.
As for third place, that went to Real Madrid, with their club president on hand to offer his immediate reaction to the ranking and Manchester City taking home the top prize on the night.
Speaking on Manchester City's scoop of the Club of the Year award at the 2022 Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris this week, the Real Madrid chief said, “If you consider it, congratulate them.

"They have a great president, a great coach, a lot of good players."
He continued, "It is true that they are a great club.
"I know a lot of people there and I think they are also worthy of that award. There are no buts to it."
Unsurprisingly, those in attendance at the ceremony were also keen to get Perez's views on recent reports claiming that Erling Haaland has a €200 million release clause that becomes active from the summer of 2024.

The Real Madrid president was not keen to entertain such questions however, insisting that he already has the world's best players within his Bernabeu squad.
Florentino Perez said, “I have no idea," when the subject of Haaland's Manchester City release clause was put to him.
"We already have the best players," he concluded.
There had been some claims earlier this month that Real Madrid may have had a specific clause in Erling Haaland's Manchester City contract that favours their chances of signing the Norway international in the future.

However, that suggestion was firmly shutdown by City head coach Pep Guardiola.
The Catalan boss said during a press conference, "Not true, no release clause for Real Madrid or any team (specifically).
"Not true, what can I say?
"I have the feeling he is incredibly happy here and we will try with him and others to make him happy."
