Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has issued a stark warning to three key Real Madrid players after they came under fire for recent performances.

Perez, 77, was Los Blancos’ president between July 2000 and February 2006 before returning to the role in 2009.

Given the fact he is the club’s most successful president with 37 trophies won during his tenure, normally if he talks fans, players and coaches listen.

Perez is ruthless in his approach and is not afraid to make big decisions, whether that be regarding the signing of players or sacking managers.

And despite still being top of La Liga, Madrid have endured a stuttering start to the season and sits 20th in the 36-team Champions League group phase after suffering defeats against Lille, AC Milan and Liverpool.

But his latest gripe came after Madrid’s 2-1 win against Valencia in La Liga at the Mestalla on Friday evening.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side conceded 27 minutes in, with Hugo Duro putting the home side ahead.

On 79 minutes Vinicius Junior was sent off and Madrid looked like they were heading for defeat.

But in typical Los Blancos fashion, Luka Modric equalised on 85 minutes before Jude Bellingham scored a 96th-minute winner, having earlier missed a penalty.

However, Spanish outlet Fichajes reports that the Madrid president is “analysing the situation” of Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy and Aurelien Tchouameni as the trio are “far from expectations” however Ancelotti has continued to back the players.

Rodrygo, 23, has made 21 appearances this term, registering five goals and four assists.

However, since the arrival of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick and the development of Arda Guler, his place has not been as secure as in previous years.

Although he has struggled with persistent muscle injuries this term.

He did not feature during Madrid’s 5-0 Copa del Rey round of 32 victory against Deportiva Minera with Guler, 19, preferred by Ancelotti.

Mendy, 29, is out of contract at the end of the 2024/25 season and the club have been linked with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.

While Tchouameni, 24, has been utilised as a centre-back in some games despite traditionally playing as a midfielder.

The France international has been linked with a move away from Madrid, with reports suggesting that Liverpool have made a ‘£41m bid’.
