After weeks of anticipation, Erling Haaland was officially announced as a Manchester City player on Monday morning.
The club announced a deal in principle had been agreed earlier last month, but the highly anticipated photos, first day and initial interview with the Manchester City media team have finally been released.
One key topic of conversation was - of course - the Champions League. Europe's elite competition is the only major trophy that evades Manchester City at present, and there is a belief in various quarters that Erling Haaland could be the man to turn around such particular fortunes.

The Norway international has registered a staggering 23 goals in 19 Champions League fixtures and was asked by CityTV why he feels he performs so well on the grandest of footballing stages.
"I always like Champions League, so that's a bit why. It's a bit more special in my eyes and I like it," the 21-year-old said in his first interview for the club.

In fact, one interesting point we can take away from Erling Haaland's first words as a Manchester City player is that the Champions League pre-match anthem is his phone ringtone. "Yes... it still is," he confirmed.
However, reaching such high standards does not come as a surprise. Moving on to talking about working hard and getting frustrated at players who do not match his efforts, Erling Haaland believes youngsters need to 'want it' when developing as a player.
Erling Haaland continued, "I don't get annoyed, but I remember when I was young there was a lot of good players around me that had huge potential but there are so many talents that go to waste because they don't have it, or they don't want it, or they think this is the right thing, or whatever."

"So yes of course, I think it's really important to train a lot, but also to train right and practice on the right things. That's a really important thing to become good."
