Fans think Erling Haaland aimed brutal dig at Man City teammate in full-time chat with Al Hilal player

Manchester City crashed out of the FIFA Club World Cup after losing to Al Hilal.

Fans are adamant that Erling Haaland aimed a brutal dig at one of his Manchester City teammates during a chat with an Al Hilal star.

On Monday evening, City fell to a shock 4-3 defeat against Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Saudi Arabian side got the win in extra time thanks to goals from Marcos Leonardo, Malcom and Kalidou Koulibaly. Bernardo Silva, Haaland and Phil Foden were on the scoresheet for City.

As a result, Al Hilal will now take on Fluminense in the last eight after the Brazilian club knocked out Inter Milan.

On the back of the final whistle, Haaland was seen chatting to Al Hilal goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.

Reacting on social media, fans were adamant that Haaland told Bounou to 'Come to City' and, in turn, aimed a brutal dig at current stopper Ederson.

One fan said: "What is he trying to tell Ederson?"

Another tweeted: "He’s tired of Ederson, we all are."

A third fan added: "Bro wants Ederson out."

Someone else wrote: "Bro is tired with Ederson." You can watch the exchange below.

Fans have been left slightly disappointed by Ederson's performance after it emerged that the first save he made against Al Hilal came in the 112th minute, which the Saudi Pro League side ended up scoring from.

Over the last few weeks, the Brazilian was heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium but has since confirmed his intentions to stay at City.

Speaking after the match, Pep Guardiola was also full of praise for Bounou.

He said: "It’s a pity. We were in such a good place and I cannot say thank you enough to the staff, how they train and prepare, they have given everything.

"We made a lot of actions and Bounou made incredible saves. Nothing else to say. I have the feeling that the team is doing well but we go home and now time to rest and refresh our mind and come back next season."

Guardiola added: "I saw many good things that I didn’t see in the past, especially how we were, the relations between the players and the staff. The chances we had, they defended so deep and Bounou made a lot of saves but you have to score and be so clinical."
