A new report has claimed that Manchester City’s signing of Everton youngster Emilio Lawrence is all but confirmed.

Despite a number of top-flight clubs having full faith in Manchester City’s academy, the last thing one should expect is for the club to rest on their laurels and not further improve their youth sides.
In fact, the Premier League Champions are constantly on the lookout for some of the most prodigious youngsters within the nation that can be nurtured into becoming the stars of tomorrow.
Keeping that in mind, it seems as if the club have wrapped up a deal to sign yet another unearthed gem to bolster their enviable elite academy setup.

As per a report by Football Insider, Manchester City have agreed a deal with Everton to sign Emilio Lawrence.
While the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United were also eyeing a move for the 16-year old, it seems as if City have reached a full agreement to sign the Scot.
It was telling how the Toffees recently confirmed their list of scholars for the upcoming campaign and one of their prized academy talent’s name was nowhere to be seen.

The attacking midfielder is classed as one of Britain’s finest young prospects.
Encouragingly, the starlet proved his potential for the Merseyside-based side’s U-18 team by registering seven goals and three assists across all competitions last season.
Just recently, the English juggernaut were also rumoured to prise away Jarrad Braithwaite from Goodison Park.

The practice of bringing in gifted youth products from clubs within the country and nurturing their promise is a common practice.
After all, Manchester City signed the likes of Liam Delap and Joshua Wilson-Esbrand from Derby County and West Ham respectively as recently as 2019.
