Jake Paul Says He’s In Hospital With ‘Broken Back’ From Carrying Boxing Rivals

The video is bizarre. Very bizarre.

Jake Paul is in hospital with a ‘broken back’ from carrying his fight promotion.

Well, sort of.

At least according to a very bizarre video he posted on social media.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to face off against Hasim Rahman Jr on August 6 after his original bout with Tommy Fury was cancelled due to alleged visa issues with the Brit.

But despite the late opponent change, in typical Paul fashion, he reckons he's going to have no issues with keeping his perfect unblemished record in tact with a win over Rahman Jr.

However, as shown in the clip above, the 25-year-old, pretending to be hurt, jokes that he's 'broken his back' as a result of 'carrying the promotion'.

Lying in a bed wearing hospital scrubs while hooked up to a heart rate monitor, he says: "So guys I'm in the hospital. I had an accident.

"I'm still going to be able to fight on August 6th so get your tickets at msg.com before they sell out."

He added: "But I broke my back... carrying the promotion for this event.

"It's broken." he yells.

"Nurse, nurse, more morphine."

His girlfriend, dressed up as a nurse, then runs over to help.

"I broke my back," he continues, "carrying the last five fights promotion. My opponents never sell s**t."

"Ah, it hurts," he then screams, "These motherf**kers never sell s**t. They couldn't sell a pen to a writer."

The majority of viewers seemed to find the whole stunt hilarious, as one fan wrote: "This is pure smoke to have an excuse if you lose lmaooo."

A second admitted: "That was funny af I’ll give you that."

But another fan didn't see the funny side and commented: "I rate the idea and get ur trying to promote, however it’s kind of not funny from my point of view I fractured my l2 and l3 vertebrae and it really took a toll on me and my mental health and limits me even today what sports I can play and I’m only 20."

A third person added: "Mans begging to sell some tickets this was trash, not your best work."

Another questioned: "Are they getting paid to promote it? Does ticket sales, PPV buys, etc matter to your opponents?

"If they are getting PPV points I’m shocked they are not trying to sell harder."

Paul's opponent, Hasim Rahman Jr., is 6 years older at 31 and has fought 13 times, only losing once. His nickname is 'Gold Blooded', while Paul's is, as we all know, 'The Problem Child'.
