Lennox Lewis gives Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight prediction and drops hint over whether he could face winner

The former heavyweight champion gave his thoughts.

Former three-time heavyweight world champion Lennox Lewis has given his honest take on Mike Tyson’s bout against Jake Paul.

Lewis, 59, will know Tyson better than most, having faced the American in June 2002.

The pair fought at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis, Tennessee, for the Ring magazine heavyweight title.

The British fighter came away with the win following a brutal eight-round knock-out.

At the time, the event was the highest-grossing pay-per-view broadcast in history.

Even then, Tyson’s powers were depleting as he could not replicate the form he showed in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

But, on Friday, 15 November, he will take to the ring once against Paul, who is 31 years younger.

The fight will take place at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium in Arlington, Texas, with a crowd of over 70,000 expected to attend.

Several people, including UFC president Dana White, have voiced their concerns for Tyson’s safety, given the fact he is 58 years old and hasn’t fought since June 2005.

Lewis has also weighed in with his thoughts on the matter.

“I don’t think Jake Paul can hurt Mike Tyson,” he told iFL TV.

“You know Mike Tyson’s got to go in there…he basically has to catch up to Jake Paul because Jake Paul’s not going to be there trying to get hit by Mike Tyson.”

“I think the fight with Jake Paul, he [Mike Tyson] is going to try and break him [Jake Paul] down and take him out,” he added.

iFL host Kugan Cassius then jokingly asked the former heavyweight if he had offers to come out of retirement.

“Yes, I have,” Lewis replied.

“But they haven’t been serious enough.”

“I don’t think they are serious enough…for me to get back in the ring, I would have to be training for at least three years to catch back up,” he explained.

Lewis will likely attend the bout, but you can also catch a glimpse of the action by following the instructions below.
