Jake Paul tried his best to intimidate Mike Tyson during the pair’s face-off.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul takes on former World Champion Tyson at the AT&T Arena in Texas on July 20.

And in a press conference to promote the fight, Tyson and Paul traded insults and expletives before doing a face-off, which didn’t quite go to plan for the latter party.

Paul attempted to intimidate Tyson through piercing eye contact and by assuming various strange stances. At one point he adopted a fighter’s stance, while another moment saw him point gun fingers at the former unified WBA, WBC and IBF titles holder.

Tyson, however, appeared relaxed and completely unmoved, with fans on social media quick to label the interaction “embarrassing”.

On X, formally Twitter, one person said: “This just feels embarrassing. There’s no win in this for Jake.”

Another added: “How is he not embarrassed lol this dude damn near 60.”

A third said: “Mike seems unbothered.”

A fourth wrote: “Mike sees him as a child that needs a good whooping.”

Elsewhere, the press conference took a bizarre turn after Paul announced that he wanted to “kiss Mike's big juicy lips.”

Tyson responded: “He wanted to kiss me? That's so ironic that he said that because I saw pictures of him dancing at 16, doing that little dance on YouTube and for some reason I had an erection.”

Tyson’s peculiar announcement prompted a very lukewarm response from the audience.

Despite the fact Tyson will be 58 by the time of the encounter, with Paul still only 27, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has sanctioned the fight as a professional bout.

However, it will only feature eight two-minute rounds rather than the traditional 10 or 12 rounds lasting three minutes each.

Moreover, the gloves will be 14 ounces rather than 10 in a bid to reduce the power of punches.
