Chris Eubank Jr slaps Conor Benn and starts ugly press conference brawl

Chaos has unfolded during the Eubank Jr vs Benn press conference.

Chris Eubank Jr slapped Conor Benn across the face as their pre-fight press conference boiled over in dramatic style.

The pair have been involved in a press conference ahead of their upcoming grudge fight on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The bout had been postponed back in October 2022.

During a tense face-off at the end of the press conference, Benn whispered an inaudible comment in Eubank Jr's ear which clearly didn't go down well with the IBO middleweight champion.

Eubank Jr responded by slapping Benn across the face with what appeared to be an egg.

Security quickly piled in to separate the two fighters and prevent the situation from becoming ugly as the pair began to brawl.

The fight was originally postponed indefinitely in October 2022 after Benn returned what was described as an 'adverse analytical finding for trace amounts of a fertility drug'.

The UK Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD) provisionally suspended and charged him over the alleged use of a prohibited substance, after two voluntary drug tests came back positive in July and September of that year.

Benn denied intentionally or knowingly ingesting any banned substances, with the WBC absolving him of a failed test after ruling that a 'highly-elevated consumption of eggs' was considered a 'reasonable explanation' for the finding.

He was banned from fighting in the UK, but UKAD lifted his ban last October and stated that the UK National Anti-Doping Panel (NAPD), an independent tribunal, were 'not comfortably satisfied' that UKAD had proved its case against Benn.

In November, UKAD confirmed that it would not file an appeal against the verdict, leaving Benn free to fight in the UK once again.

Turki Alalshikh then confirmed in January that Eubank Jr vs Benn had been re-arranged for April 26 - and it promises to be well worth the watch.
